The increase would definitely defer by region to region and I personally think such move would only bring in more temporal users and not permanent nor true lovers of the platform. With such move, in three months, steemit could accommodate up to 300k new users but consistency and originally might just be quite difficult to control or decipher.
Quality always comes out on top, so there are communities and leaders who control who is a spammer or scammer. The point is to get a new token for each community and for each community to be a small Steemit.
I’m sure instead of sharing proportionally with Steem Power, it’s much better to split for activity.
