WHAT MAKES THE GREAT, GREAT
I know of two police friends; one is in love with his job and admitted that if there is reincarnation he will love to continue being a police man. He enjoys and loves his work with passion. The other one always complains and gives excuses on regular basis (at his place of work), always pretending of being sick. He confessed to me that he does not like the job, he only work with the Nigerian Police because of the take home pay; that if he happens to find another job which is in tune with his passion or if he has a starting capital of about seven to ten million naira to venture into a lucrative business, he will quit the job.

Work on your assignment; give it your best effort and time. Share your potential, skills and resources through teamwork. Deep within you are treasures and resources in raw state. Working diligently gives them forms and shapes; it is like mining and refining gold. Without working in the area of your strength, potential will be wasted.

The great place to express your potentials is your vision and dreams, ideas and thoughts. Consistently creating a visible reality of your inspiration drives you towards accomplishing your dreams. Success living is predictable, it is not luck. A school of thought said, “There is nothing like luck what people call luck is when preparation meets with opportunity.”

The average African believes in luck. He believes that this world is under the control of some overwhelmingly strong forces that man should not bother to control, and that these forces tend to thwart the rational part of man’s thinking. Consequently, he is unable to do things he should do to exercise control over his environment and circumstances. This irrational thinking has laid the foundation for our belief in luck or fate. Because successful people are so few around us, we tend to think that few people who achieved success only made it by a stroke of luck. We need to abandon this mindset. Successful living is a reality that exists and the application of success principles guarantees it realization.

A wise man has this to say, “If it is to be, then it is up to me.” What does it really mean? It means we must take responsibility for our success or our failure. We must either act on life or life will act on us. We can either go with the flow, which may take us to the old location or we can direct the flow and determine on destination.

If you look at a boat sailing in a river, you will notice that if the wind is blowing south, some boats will go with the flow and travel south. Yet, there will also be boats that are going north, east and west. They are not going with the flow, rather are using the flow to go where they want to go.

You must determine where you are going in life. It may not be easy to go where there is no path, but if you do, you will make every day a Friday because you will create new rhythms for freshness, peace and satisfaction.
