Popular with residents, the cheap market in Bireuen is crowded with mothers.

Hundreds of people from Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province, crowded the cheap market area at the former PUPR Office, Geulanggang Teungoh Village, Juang City, Bireuen.

People's enthusiasm for buying food necessities has been going on since 08.30. WIB, people seemed to have crowded the location where the cheap market activities were taking place.

People shop for various basic necessities which are sold at subsidized prices, it can be seen that the buyers are dominated by mothers. Even though the weather is quite hot, mothers and fathers are willing to queue to buy rice, eggs, sugar and cooking oil.

Premium rice measuring 10 kilograms IDR 94,000/sack, granulated sugar IDR 28,000/2 kilograms, cooking oil IDR 32,000/2 liters, and chicken eggs IDR 42,000/board.

The mothers are not only from around Kota Juang, many are also from Peusangan and July.

A buyer named Bahtiar admitted that he came with his wife from July to buy two sacks of rice.

"I have been buying rice at subsidized prices since July, hopefully there will be another cheap market, especially near Eid," he said.

Another housewife admitted that from Cot Bada Village, she bought just one package for IDR 196 thousand.

Head of the Bireuen Trade, Industry, Cooperatives and SMEs Service, Irfan through the Head of Trade, Reza Fitria, said that the cheap market was carried out by the Aceh Trade and Industry Service in collaboration with the Bireuen Industry and Trade, Cooperatives and SMEs Service in order to welcome religious holidays, especially Eid al-Adha and handling inflation and maintaining price stability.

With the cheap market, it is hoped that it can meet people's needs amidst the increase in basic food prices during religious holidays.
