Drugs and their Effects ( Drugs that influence a person 's emotions , perceptions and behavior)
Drugs can produce an altered state of consciousness. However , they vary in how dangerous they are and in whether they are addictive . Here i am going to discuss some drugs and their effects , how we can save our people from this extremely worst addiction .
1. Stimulants:
stimulants causes arousal in the central nervous system. Two common stimulants are caffeine and nicotine . More dangerous are cocaine and amphetamines ,which in large quantities can lead to convulsion and death.street name of some stimulants are coke ,blow , snow , lady , crack etc
Effects of stimulants:
Stimulants increased confidence, mood elevation, sense of energy and alertness, decreased appetite , anxiety, irritability, insomnia ,transient, drowsiness, delayed orgasm
Over dose reactions of stimulants :
Elevated blood pressure , increases in body temperature, face picking, suspiciousness, bizarre and repetitious behavior, vivid hallucinations ,convulsions, possible death.
2. Depressants
Depressants decreases arousal in the central nervous system .they can cause intoxication along with feelings of euphoria. the most common depressants are alcohol and barbiturates. Alcohol is the most frequently used depressant.
Effects of depressants :
Effects of depressants are anxiety reduction , impulsiveness dramatic mood swings , bizarre thoughts ,suicidal behavior,slurred speech, disorientation ,slowed mental and physical functioning , limited attention span ,muscle relaxation,amnesia , sleep.
Overdose reactions of depressants :
Confusion, decreased response to pain , shallow respiration , dilated pupils , weak and rapid pulse ,coma , possible death.
3. Narcotics
Morphine and Heroin are narcotics drugs that produce relaxation and relieve pain and anxiety, because of their addictive qualities , morphine and heroin are particularly dangerous .
Effects of Narcotics :
Anxiety and pain reduction, apathy difficulty in concentration , decreased physical activities , slowed speech , drooling , itching, euphoria,nausea.
Overdose reactions of Narcotics
Depressed levels of consciousness , low blood pressure ,rapid heart rate, shallow breathing, convulsions , coma , possible death.
