BEFORE & AFTER CONTEST ENTRY | Week 1: Design Steem Exclusive Things from Plastic Bottles to Plant Holders

Today I would like to inspire people who have a lot of plastic bottles to use them for growing plants, flowers salads. Plastic bottles are very easy and practical for many Gardening Hacks.

They are relatively cheap material. You can ask all your friends and family to provide them for you, and you can teach them how to grow their fresh salad or onion or beautiful flowers.

Even if you live in the apartment you can still hang them around your apartment and create unique spaces.
You don't need any special skills and you can start with the easiest growing lettuce. That what normally children grow in kindergarten.

You need absolutely any plastic bottle but preferably from 1.5 to 6 liters or even bigger.

Step 1
Use a marker to draw the lines to cut out the hole in the bottle

Step2
Use scissors or knife to cut out the upper part.

Step3
Mark small holes for water drainage and cut them with knife or melt the plastic with hot tool where you marked

Step 4
Fulfil the bottle with soil and plant the flower seeds or sprouts. Water the plants or seeds slightly to keep them moistured.

Insert the knot under the hole and pull the thread through the hole so that the knot will be blocked under the hole and then you can attach the bottle to any wall and tie on the side where cap is.

Step 5
Make a small hole on opposite to cap side of the bottle to attach the rope and hang the bottle. You can skip this if you want to keep bottles on the ground

The project is done and all it needs now is your love, care and patience. And then you will see the fruits of your labor!

Extra Notes
You can use any soil, and I am using soil from a supermarket called universal. If you have a garden you can take soil from your garden. You must water according to the climate you live in and the plant properties. I guess this is so fun way to recycle plastic bottles. They are so durable that you can reuse them for planting for a long time!! Thank you for reading and happy gardening to everyone!!
