Greetings to the great minds in @steemSchools.
I wish to share with us why adult education is of a Paramount in the society especially for the development of our society.
There can't be any meaning development or innovation without development. And as a matter of fact, when adults in a society are well educated it makes things very easy and smoothrunning.
Adult Education is a practice in which adults engage in systematic and sustained learning activities in order to gain new forms of knowledge, skills, attitudes, or values. It can mean any form of learning adults engage in beyond traditional schooling, encompassing basic literacy to personal fulfillment as a lifelong learner. In particular, adult education reflects a specific philosophy about learning and teaching based on the assumption that adults can and wants to learn, that they are able and willing to take responsibility for that learning, and that the learning itself should respond to their needs.
Driven by what one needs or wants to learn, the available opportunities, and the manner in which one learns, adult learning is affected by demographics, globalization and technology. The learning happens in many ways and in many contexts just as adults lives differ. Adult learning can be in any of the three contexts which are:
1• Formal Education - This is a structured learning that typically takes place in an education or learning institution, usually with a set curriculum and carries credentials/certificates.
2• Non-formal Education- This is learning that is Organized by educational institutions but non-credential
3• Informal Education - This frefers to Learning that goes on all the time resulting from daily life Activities related to work , family, Community or leisure.

characteristics of Adult Education

Defined as the science and art of helping adults learn, the practice of adult education is referred to as andragogy, to distinguish it from the traditional school-based education for children pedagogy. Unlike children, adults are seen as;
• More self-directed, rather than relying on others for help.
• Mature and therefore experienced with the experience providing a rich source for learning.
• Adults readiness to learn is linked to what they need to know.
• Adult orientation to learn is problem centred rather than subject centered.
• Adults motivation to learn is internal.
Educating adults differs from education children in several ways given that adults have accumulated Knowledge and work experience which can add to the learning process and experience. Another difference is that most adult education is voluntary; therefore, the participants are generally self-motivated rather being parent/guardian-motivated.
Adults frequently apply their knowledge in a practical fashion to learn and unlearn and relearn effectively. They must have a reasonable expectation that the Knowledge they gain will help them further and achieve their goals.
For instance, a working class adult in the office enrolling to learn computer training courses. He believes these courses would teach basic use of computer operating system or specific application software which will enhance efficiency in his office work.
A working class adult is unlikely to have freedom to simply quit his or her job and go back to school full-time. Public school system and Community colleges usually provides and opportunity for weekend or part-time Studies for this reason. In some places it is call second-chance education.
However purposes of adult education may vary, there is the general purpose of which are summarized as:
• Vocational
• Social
• Recreational
• Self-development.
Additionally, one of its goals may be to help adults learners satisfy their personal needs and achieve their professional goals. Therefore it's ultimate goal might be to achieve human fulfilling. The goal might also be to achieve an institution's need
