BLIND IMITATION

What on earth would make you think you can't acheive greatness.

Why does your heart experience such bitterness?

Whenever you compare yourself to another human being.

Why is their home filled with hapiness?

And yours filled with sadness?

Listen to my heart with open mindedness.

Once upon a time in Africa,

There came certain people on iron horses,

Our grandfathers were so much in love with the items they brought including the roses,

So our young and energetic men were quickly given as slaves,

The rhythm and motion of our beautiful women got the white man attracted and there came a fusion.

Hmmm, what a mystery !!!

But thanks to Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah
and the others who emancipated us from that misery,

Indeed we have a sad history.

Blind imitation,

It all started when Africans lost their cohesion,

For I see no reason,

Why you should leave your own rich culture for someone else's tradition.

We are deeply drenched into our acclaimed masters' possession,

The rice, maize and tomatoes in our neighbours garden are left to rot,

Whiles the government spends billions of dollars on imports,

That seamstress in your house can give you the best of designs,

Yet you leave them for imported clothes,

I see no difference between the brain of a black and that of a white person.

Lets tell ourselves that we can be better,

Lets not just say but lets act accordingly,

For surely we shall be better and greater.

Special thanks to @dobartim for this initiative and we look foward to more initiatives as it help us learn more.

Big thanks to @steemschools for this awesome contest and we hope for more.

Thank you.
