RE: ᔕᑕᗷ Week Chit-Chat

I had an awesome weekend! I visited the Teatro alla Scala—what an experience! Seeing one of the world’s greatest opera houses in person was magical. Felt like a VIP for a moment! Definitely something I won’t forget. How about you all? What did you get up to? 😃

Oh it is quite interesting you spend your day weekend good by seeing opera .

Oh, just to clarify, I didn't see an opera today, but I took a guided tour of the theater. I got to admire its unique features, especially the recent renovation that made it more modern, allowing for three different stage settings at once, so multiple shows can happen simultaneously. I'll be going to see “La Dame aux Camélias” in September!

But... What about all those phantoms of the opera... I mean why a renovation into something more modern?

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to delve deeper into what I discovered during this wonderful day. The major change in the renovation of Milan's Teatro alla Scala primarily involves the back part of the theater, the backstage, where the stage sets are created. While the front of the theater has remained unchanged to preserve its historical value, the backstage has been modernized with a new stage tower. This renovation allows for the simultaneous creation of three different stage sets, significantly increasing the theater's production capacity. It is now possible to manage multiple performances at the same time, which was previously impossible, improving efficiency and offering a more dynamic experience for the audience.

Thanks for explaining, it's a pity you don't share a photo or perhaps you can share a link?
I wonder how many still visit the theater. Let's hope art survives and people can afford the prizes asked. With us it's far from cheap and if you have to travel the entire country it's even less fun (or economical).
Thanks for sharing your super weekend!

I agree, it is essential to keep art accessible. Those interested can visit the theater by reservation at reasonable costs, while ticket prices for performances vary, just like football matches, depending on the seating location. I am preparing an article that I will publish tomorrow, and I will share a photo of the royal box. It's an extraordinary place; although I'm not a huge theater fan, this visit has brought me much closer to this world.

How long does such a tour take and what exactly can you do if you visit the building? What is the VIP part? Were you on the stage acting?

What did you get up to sounds as if they did something bad...

Thank you for the questions! The tour of Teatro alla Scala lasts about an hour and allows you to visit the museum and some restricted areas of the theater. The "VIP" part was the exclusive access to the royal box and some backstage sections. I must say the visit was "without a hitch," as they say in theater jargon, "it went on without a single cough!
