Our Sweet Peas are Blooming, and it's Only Early May!
We've been working in the garden, and one of our many "spring surprises" has been that a large growth of Sweet Peas — which normally die off during the winter — seems to have survived and turned into a huge "hedge" instead.
Hard to believe, but here we are in the first week of may, and we have bunches of fragrant deep purple and white flowers everywhere!
Normally we don't have Sweet Peas till maybe late June or July.
What's slightly odd is that only the purple and white ones are blooming. No sign of the pink, white or yellow ones.
Such is the seeming randomness of nature!
For now, we're just enjoying having cutting flowers this early in the season.
