Unforgettable (Radical House # 24) - Submission from @sampu - Our Quarantine days during lockdown

We are in lockdown since March 2020. To stop the spread of Corona virus, it has been announced by government to stay at home. There are many changes in life since the lockdown and quarantine started.

Firstly, we realised the difference between necessity and luxury. We understand what are the minimum requirement to survive.

My mom's birthday was on 06-April. Each year, we used to buy cake from popular bakery. However, all the shops other than the medicine shop and grocery shops were closed due to national lockdown. We had no option to buy a cake for mom. Hence we took out one packed pastry and presented that to mom as her birthday cake. She was totally surprised seeing this. She was happy. The smile in her face was priceless.

As the movement of people outside their house were restricted, our household helper maid had to discontinue her work. We decided to provide her the monthly salary in humanitarian ground. However, we had to the cleaning and other activities of the house by ourselves. I have learnt to clean the dishes and mom is satisfied with my performance. These learning will certainly help me to survive in times where household helps are unavailable.

We choose to stop eating outside food, although food delivery was allowed by Swiggy and Zomato. Instead, we started to prepare the foods in home. Initially, the foods were not as much tasty as restaurant, however we were happy as they are much more hygienic. As a result, I experienced a significant weight loss.

We now spent much more time in home. My mom is very happy as she is now not feeling alone like previously she did when me and my brother had to leave home due to our job.
