Brown boy brown boy,
Brown boy looked into the mirror and saw his cinnamon skin like that of the aesthetic kings before him,
He had his father's eyes that raged like fire
His mothers lips which spit native like coins,
At school he spoke words of his mothers land and was punished with a ruler against the hand for that is the tongue of a savage man.
The other kids did not know his name but spit or wet back worked just the same.
He taught his parents must be cruel for handing him over to such a cruel world and soon he length to suffocate, to mask, to shrink, to supplicate, to shed his skin withhold his name till the mirror showed no face
Brown boy, brown boy,
What are the rules, you had to learn to play this game
Did the pyramids of the sun and moon leave you without music of worship.
One day the boy worked into the wilderness without his parents without his teachers and the sun smiled at his orphaned face, it's fire in his eyes and heat on his lips and he layed down on the weight of the world to become one with the dust of his ancestors but the rains soon came in and seeped into the dirt that curved a shell around his body.
His skin became clay formed by the gods
There was a music he could now hear and he was reborn from a child of the dirt to a man who came to learn his name and then he retured to the world as himself and now he stands tall like a temple and looks into mirrors with eyes ablaze, songs on his lips that break into a smile because now he can sing his ancient name and his ancient name is the future.
