"Concurso Recreando fotos de la infancia. Mi inicio en la escolaridad / Recreating childhood photos contest. My start in school [ESP-ENG]

Recuerdo mi infancia con mucha alegría porque fui muy feliz y recibí mucho cariño de mi familia. En la foto que muestro me encuentro en la escuela donde trabajaba mi mamá como maestra y donde estudié educación primaria. Allí en la época de la foto, asistía todos los días a la escuela a la edad de 3 años, en calidad de “oyente”, no estaba inscrita porque no tenía la edad suficiente para estar en primaria y mi mamá no quería colocarme en preescolar lejos de ella, ni dejarme en casa al cuidado de otros.

I remember my childhood with great joy because I was very happy and I received a lot of affection from my family. In the photo I am showing, I am in the school where my mother worked as a teacher and where I studied elementary education. There at the time of the photo, I attended school every day at the age of 3, as a "listener", I was not enrolled because I was not old enough to be in elementary school and my mother did not want to place me in preschool away from her, or leave me at home in the care of others.

Todos los años arreglaban los escenarios en la escuela y le tomaban fotos a cada estudiante y a mí , la oyente, me tomaban mi foto también. O sea para mí, la educación primaria inició en la edad preescolar. Me divertí mucho, pero era muy traviesa e indiscreta, claro, mi nivel de madurez estaba por debajo del promedio. Con decirles que hasta acusé con el Director a una maestra, gran amiga y colega de mi mamá; de esto me recuerdo de manera muy vívida. Por supuesto, mi mamá me quería borrar del mapa ese día.

Every year they arranged the scenery in the school and took pictures of each student and I, the listener, had my picture taken as well. So for me, elementary education started at preschool age. I had a lot of fun, but I was very naughty and indiscreet, of course, my maturity level was below average. I even accused a teacher, a great friend and colleague of my mother's, to the principal; I remember this very vividly. Of course, my mother wanted to wipe me off the map that day.

En mi inocencia yo no sabía que era oyente, y tampoco me preguntaba por qué mis amigos pasaron de grado y yo me quedaba en el mismo. Lo que hacía era disfrutar, imagínense una niña rodeada de muchos niños y de las maestras que eran como sus tías, hasta les pedía (y aún) la bendición, porque así somos los que tenemos el privilegio de ser hijos de maestras. Por cierto, pasó algún tiempo, dos años en el mismo grado y ya me sabía las lecciones, entonces me pasaban de oyente a grado superior (2do grado). Hasta que llegó un día en que finalmente me pudieron inscribir de manera formal.

In my innocence I didn't know I was a listener, nor did I wonder why my friends moved up a grade and I stayed in the same one. What I did was enjoy myself, imagine a little girl surrounded by many children and teachers who were like her aunts, she even asked them (and still does) for their blessing, because that's how those of us who have the privilege of being the children of teachers are. By the way, some time passed, two years in the same grade and I already knew the lessons, then I was passed from listener to higher grade (2nd grade). Until the day came when I could finally be formally enrolled.

Me divertí un mundo, muchísimo, pero también debo decir que el no cursar estudios de nivel preescolar me trajo consecuencias con mi motricidad fina, ya que pasé enseguida a la lecto - escritura. Esto trae efectos a la hora de realizar trabajos manuales y en la lateralidad, pienso más que el común en decidir dónde queda la derecha o donde queda la izquierda. I had a lot of fun, a lot of fun, but I must also say that not going to preschool brought me consequences with my fine motor skills, since I went immediately to reading and writing. This brings effects when it comes to manual work and laterality, I think more than the common in deciding where is the right or where is the left.
