Greetings to all the steemians in here. I hope your day is wonderful. I have been absent throughout the Season 2 of this project, and i am glad to be back once more.
I shall be expressing a work of art by showing you how i did it. It definitely isn't an easy one, especially if you have absolutely no experience whatsoever. Also, i have no technique other than complete calculations in all my arts and crafts. I taught myself using numbers, and common sense, so bare with me as i try to explain the best i can.

Requirements

  • White A1 paper
  • Pencil
  • Straight ruler
  • Eraser
  • Sharpener or blade
  • Steady broad surface (table or board)
  • Pack of pins
  • Toilet tissue or a very clean dry foam.

The Process

Set the table or board, and place the A1 paper on it such that its lengths appears to lie in a vertical manner. Now, use as many pins as you desire to fix the A1 paper on the table/board, by pinning around the edges of the A1 paper. This works perfect with a horizontal surface as shown below.

Use your ruler to carefully get the width of your A1 paper and note somewhere. Now get a line of symmetry (one side should reflect the other) that cuts the paper vertically. To get this, just measure both widths again half way (half the original width) and draw softly to join the 2 points. Do not print out these demarcations since they are just to guide you get a perfect outcome. Now you will need to take dimensions from within the areas i shall list out, and keep somewhere.

  • Vertical distance between tip of hair to bottom of chin
  • Vertical distance between tip of hair to point where hair meets frontal head
  • Horizontal distance between top of ear passing through eyebrows to the other ear top
  • Horizontal distance between bottom of ear, passing through bottom of nose and getting to the bottom of the other ear
  • Horizontal distance between eyebrows
  • Horizontal distance between nose and ear on both sides of symmetry.
  • Horizontal distance from one end of nose to the other
  • Vertical distance between top lip and bottom lip
  • Vertical distance between bottom nose and top lip
  • Vertical distance between bottom lip and bottom chin
  • Vertical distance between bottom nose and bottom chin
  • Vertical distance between eyebrow and top eyelid.

NB: This works flawlessly when the image of the subject's face is taken from a horizontal angle (180°) with very little or no tilting. When taking these measurements and it seemingly looks to not touch as explained, now you improvise in those areas by using your eyes carefully.

These measurements will be small if you are aiming for a massive art (which is preferable for beginners). I will urge you to work on multiplications if you wish to produce something big. Multiply all values gotten, by a number of your choosing. Same number must be used all throughout to attain uniformity.

Drawing is done with free hands, the measurements will guide you as you go, just apply correctly. No one taught me, i just imagined it and applied the numbers.

You will get something as above

Now, apply your numbers as gotten. Softly make ruled lines that can easily be erased afterwards, are shaded to make a complexion later on. If you look at mine, you will barely see the soft demarcating lines because i intended erasing afterwards. The obvious lines are the ones i intend keeping till the end, however avoid printing out lines since this will spoil the art. You can do that only after you are so so sure and almost done.

Here, you see how my measurements helped me bring out other features in appropriate positions. Measurements are very important when drawing a person.

Below shows how the drawing looks after fitting in more features like the eyes, lips, nose and eyebrows.
Now I shade softly on areas with intention of producing a complexion and/or reflection. Please abstain from pressing on your paper while drawing, so as to avoid having to erase too hard. Too much erasing could affect the complexion.

After applying the shades softly on the areas for complexion and/or reflections, use the toilet tissue or clean dry foam (old forms are preferable) to rub on ad blend the shade as demonstrated below.

After the blend of shades, you will have a complexion similar to what's shown below. This process takes time and patience, so be dedicated if you wish to attain perfection.

Below, we have some images of the final product.

This art took me the whole night to perfect (over 6 hours), yet i made an error with the eye on my right hand side. It couldn't be rectified because i erased a lot, so that it now appears as though i printed on the eye, making it unsymmetrical with the other.

One of the most important features is the eyes. If someone wanna disguise, he/she should put on dark eye shades, it makes it hard to tell. All the same, i'm glad that there is a resemblance at the end.
Thank you so much for reading my publication.

I agree, I use a dark shade to disguise. You are welcome

It can be seen that you have a great talent for drawing. Although you say that your knowledge has been empirical, you have acquired very good techniques. The final result was very similar to the original.

Thank you for sharing with us in detail, how you have obtained such an excellent result.

Para ser un principiante en el dibujo la aplicación de la técnica dio un buen resultado, considero que dibujar un rostro a través de una fotografía tiene un alto grado de dificultad. Seguro que si continuas practicando el arte de dibujar tendrás éxito.

😂🤣 @patjewell, you are a funny one. It is easy, when you keep trying it gets better. But i think painting can catch on quite easily.

Thank you so much for stopping by, i am so glad!

You have tried to portray yourself in a very beautiful and wonderful way. This beautiful talent within you is unappreciated.
