THE MIGHTY SENTINELS OF THE MOUNTAINS.. NORTHWEST ADVENTURES! 😀
The mighty sentinels of the Mountains!😊
Just add a little rain, and step back ….these giant trees grow fast and tall in the Northwest!☺️
On the left we have a Western Red Cedar, and stretching skyward on the right is a magnificent Douglas Fir!
I looked up the lifespan of these giants and this is what I found…………
The Western Red Cedar has a lifespan of 1,500 years, and they believe many are much older but they can’t be sure without cutting down the tree.🙄
The Douglas Fir, has a lifespan of over 500 years, up to 1,000 years!😊
@elizabethbit has a formula that she and @actifit-lamb have used. They measure the circumference of the tree, and online there is a chart that can give you a very close, approximate age, for each species!😇
These two trees are on the trail to my Canadian neighbors off grid cabin.
The only way to get to this cabin is on foot.
Grant and his Wife recently came down to their cabin, to celebrate Canada’s Thanksgiving.
They are back home in Canada now, and Silvertop was checking to make sure all the doors were securely locked!😊
The rain continued to fall, as I quietly walked the forest trails, filled with more of these beautiful tall trees……….
No logging here, these trees are protected, for generations to come hike, and enjoy!🤗
Just bring your raincoat Lol!😇🤣
Happy Friday everyone, enjoy the outdoors, till tomorrow Silvertop Mike 😊
