As a student of Software Engineering, I’m excited to talk about the advancements in technology, particularly in Artificial Intelligence (AI), and how it is transforming our world.
As we know, every day presents new challenges, but with them, we also find new solutions. Have you ever wondered how we resolve these issues? Our technology is evolving rapidly, becoming more sophisticated with each passing day. Today, I want to discuss how Artificial Intelligence (AI) helps us and how it is gradually replacing certain human roles.
What is Artificial Intelligence?
Artificial Intelligence is essentially a branch of computer science,
But with the remarkable ability to understand, recognize patterns, and make decisions.
The Difference Between Humans and Machines
In the past, machines lacked the ability to understand; they merely followed instructions given by humans. While humans had the capability to comprehend and make decisions, machines could only perform tasks as per the commands they received.
However, technology has evolved significantly. Today, machines not only work alongside humans but also make decisions independently, sometimes without needing human input. Many modern machines are now programmed to make sense of situations and act accordingly, much like humans.
Why Was Artificial Intelligence Designed?
The primary purpose behind designing AI was to assist humans. However, as AI continues to advance, it is slowly replacing certain human roles. Many modern companies are increasingly relying on AI because it works faster and more efficiently than humans in some scenarios.
Why Do Companies Prefer AI Over Human Workers?
There’s no doubt that humans are unique creations with unparalleled abilities. However, humans have limitations—they need rest, food, sleep, and financial compensation. On the other hand, AI doesn’t require rest, food, or money, which makes it more efficient in certain contexts. In some situations, AI might even outperform humans.
Is AI Really Going to Replace Human Jobs?
As technology continues to grow rapidly, there is a possibility that AI might replace some human jobs. Today, AI is present in nearly every field, from medicine and manufacturing to design and food production. Every aspect of life is becoming increasingly dependent on AI.

The Fear of Job Loss
Estimates on job displacement due to AI vary widely, depending on the industry, region, and the nature of the job. For instance, a 2020 report by the World Economic Forum predicted that by 2025,
Automation and AI could displace around 85 million jobs globally. We can see this impact already as AI becomes integrated into our daily lives through apps like WhatsApp, Snapchat, and Facebook, which now offer AI-powered tools to their users. This raises concerns about the potential loss of human jobs in the future.
