Wherz de party, man?! 🐸 More on Pepe’s observations in a minute.

My morning began with ladies Bible study. We finished up Colossians and will begin Luke next week. We had another new member today. Of the 10-12 members of this study, there are only about 3-4 of us who have been together since 2015. Some come and stay for a while and then go, while some stay a very short time and rarely return. Nonetheless, we always have a good study and enjoy the fellowship.

Once home I spent a bit of time hauling water to the garden. We are headed for a hot stretch and I wanted to water thoroughly as Thursday will offer the next window of opportunity to water again as the office will be closed for the 4th of July. Then I stripped the bed and changed the sheets. This is always a laborious task on a waterbed! 🙄

Once that was done, we set out mid afternoon for a hike up. Pepe had stowed away in @silvertop’s pack. He popped his little froggy head out and asked, ‘Wherz de party, man?’ He had seen the balloons! The further we went, the more excited he got because he said, ‘look- derz more b’loons!’

He was nearly hopping for joy because he loves a good party! 🐸 We continued on when he spied yet another bunch and nearly knocked @silvertop down in his exuberance shouting, ‘ more b’loons-I wanna go to de party!’ He actually scared one of his big bull frog 🐸 cousins who squealed and jumped into the pond!

I had to explain to Pepe you can’t just crash the party….you have to be invited and he hadn’t been. It took a bit, but he finally understood. He settled back into @silvertop’s pack for the balance of the hike; disappointed but still enjoying the ride.

I’ve been talking about the berries beginning to ripen, but I forgot to mention that the cherry trees are as well. If we had any doubts, what Pepe saw next should clarify things. He was riding along in the pack gazing about when he said, ‘hey silbertop-what’s dat?’ This is what he was looking at.

I exclaimed, ‘why Pepe, that’s bear scat! The bear has been enjoying the cherries!’ Pepe’s reaction was to squeal and dive into silbertop’s-err I mean @silvertop’s pack! 🐸🙀🐸

He didn’t come out until we got home, poor Pepe!

That’s gonna be it for now. Tomorrow begins my workweek, but with a holiday in the middle! I work a day; off a day; work a day and then it’s my 4 day weekend! Yippee!🥳
