Where's The Ferry?............ NW Cascade Wanderings

It turns out that apparently unless you are actually booked on the Alaskan ferry, you have no idea what time it docks or departs. We tried everything from calling them(completely automated with no precise schedule), to Googling them to no avail, to even asking Alexa without success! It seems it’s a national security need to know basis only-thing! 🙄

We went to the bay anyway-just in case, and sure enough, there was no ferry. So, we made lemonade out of lemons and enjoyed the outing! There is always something to see at the bay, such as the mussels in the first picture. Or perhaps several sailboats all with the same design of sails.

I saw my friend Alfred the seagull-actually many Alfreds, but these two in particular caught my fancy.

This Alfred is of a different feather!

I captured a train video I’ll share on another day. There is a floating dock, so we walked down the gangway to it for a little while. On the end of the rails, I found an interesting design. I’m presuming it was purposely painted there as both sides had it.

This next picture gives you an idea of just how grey and cloudy it was.

Fortunately it never did rain! ☔️

Some interesting barnacles and seaweed.

Since we had accrued a free drink from the Woods Coffeehouse, we stopped in to redeem it and enjoy the rustic atmosphere of the place.

Once we’d finished, we headed back outside to enjoy climbing down to the water. I was just going to take a video because the sound of the water was so relaxing. I soon found more than just that to focus on! Enjoy!

I love the sound of the water!

That’s gonna be it for today. An unusual midweek break from work! That leaves me with Friday Eve and then Friday. On Saturday, Phoenix comes to stay for an extended period as Bill and Agi fly to Hungary for her father’s funeral. We are happy to keep Phoenix, but sad that they are going for the reason that they are. It is never easy to lose someone you love and so unexpectedly. 😢

Take care and enjoy your evening. 🙏🙏🇮🇱🇺🇦

"Love the way you turned a potentially frustrating experience into a lovely outing! 🌞 Those mussels at the bay look delicious, and I'm sure Alfred the seagull stole the show 😉. Your photos are as always stunning, especially that interesting design on the train dock 🤔. Hope Bill and Agi have a smooth trip to Hungary and that you get some well-deserved rest before Phoenix arrives 🙏. Would love to hear more about your adventures with Phoenix, so come back and share those stories soon! 👣"

Thank you @upex for the encouraging words. Phoenix will be the star of my posts in the coming weeks for sure. She is a sweet mixed dog of Rhodesian Ridgeback and dachshund. The most muscular 'wiener dog' you've ever seen! Take care and thank you again!
