'Tis The Season!............. NW Cascade Wanderings

I know what you’re thinking! With a title like that, it smacks of Christmas! Nope! Not even close!

Here in the PNW, it’s that time of year again! It starts with….

…..Service Berries like the one in the picture, and raspberries, and then all the other berries jump on board. It’s a fruit smorgasbord unlike anywhere else I know. Plus, what’s even better is 60% of the berries grow wild; the others you have to go to the farm to get. Free is good and the Service Berries are beginning to ripen! They taste so good! Looking forward to grazing our way up the trail!

I needed to roast coffee for a local customer, so that was on the agenda directly after running through some music. It was a grand time! Then, it was off to the post office to mail the coffee and a quick stop at the grocery for milk and home again todo a bit of laundry.

At 4 PM we headed up the road. We ran into a couple neighbors and exchanged pleasantries. Jan had noticed that summer is officially getting in gear for us long about Wednesday for a week of heat that I know I’m not going to like! 🙄🥵 It had to happen but it would be nice to ease into it rather than jumping straight into the fire! 🙄

I think the rocks are interesting because of color, pattern and texture. It’s ever changing because of the river’s flow, so things shift often, and what’s visible today might be something entirely new the next time!
