Contest:"Would your parents pressure you to get married because of your age?"
In my country settling down is one of the major achievements especially for a Lady. We hold marriage in high esteem and always gather round anyone who's getting married.
We even consider tribe while getting married. Some families do not get married to a particular tribe due to negative history with that tribe or the superstitions surrounding the tribe.
When you get to a particular age and you're not married especially for the Ladies people begin to ask questions.There is so much burden to marry early for ladies because they consider ladies as flowers to be plucked when its still blossoming .The guys are also pressurized especially when you're an only male child but not as much as the ladies.
Personally i do not like the pressure placed on both gender to get married at a particular, The rate of divorce is increasing by the day because we have people who were not emotionally and psychologically ready for it that went into it because of pressure from the society.
Marriage is a good thing but she not be tied to once essence. Especially for the Ladies it is believed when you are not married you have not achieved anything. This ideology is so wrong. People should be allowed to choose when they want to settle down not family and friends dictating for them.
Personally my mom do not put pressure on us for to get married but we have it at the back of our minds that we need to settle down at some point but by our own pace. That is how he should be because they are not the one going into that marriage but you and you will be the one to stay in it.
Alot of divorce would have been avoided if some persons were alot to marry at their own timing there are even cases when a parent forces the child to get married to someone of their choosing and they end up regretting their decisions.
Marriage is a beautiful thing but should not be forced on anybody. Everyone should be allowed to decide at what age they would love to have a family.
