Things that once seemed cool but now feel outdated?

The lifestyle of a lot has changed. As time goes by, culture changes a lot along with technology as well in Bangladesh. There were such things or habits that people widely accessed and lived that life appeared incomplete without them. But in the present state of affairs, they seem old-fashioned or outdaded.

In terms of fashion:

Vintage Fashion

In Bangladesh, the younger generation used to be so fond of wearing bell-bottom pants, colorful shirts, or clothes with tigers prints. These were the styles that, in the 70s and 80s. Those outfits today may seem outdated compared to the world of modern fashion.
Likewise, gold chains or rings were in much vogue once upon a time. It is widely available today, and it comes across weird to see someone wearing such jewelry in the present time.

In terms of technology:

While the 2000s saw flip phones, slide phones, and monochrome display mobile phones in Bangladesh. Those feature phones, which people were using to listen to music and chat through SMS at the time. Today, they're nothing more than an artifact of the past. Back in the day when internet was cool and we used to hit up a cyber cafe to get on the internet and use Yahoo Messenger. And today, these things that were being done then seem like a dinosaur show, and people laugh to just think of those days.

Culture and entertainment:

Not long ago, in the villages of Bangladesh, eating Panta bhat (spoiled rice), raising ducks and chickens, or swimming in ponds were considered elements of modern life. This was part of everyday life. But, due to urban living and modern lifestyles, these practices might have become outdated now.

Similarly, the Bengali movies or dramas that used to be modern entertainment once would seem very funny or boring to a lot of people today.

In gadgets and tech:

	Cassette

In Bangladesh, many homes still use tape recorders or cassette players, which were once used widely. This was something to be done with pride in the 90s. I still miss my first cassette. But, now no one uses these things; people would rather listen to the music on digital music streaming services or their smartphones.

In terms of mentality:

Mentality Changed

It used to be cool once, hanging out on the street corner or staying up late to chat. Today, when people have no time as they are living in the age of virtual reality, all these old-fashioned habits of gossiping or getting together may seem passed. All eyes communicate through social networks, so the dusty methods of direct people are almost in the past.

Though these things seem outdated with time. With the advent of smartphones, social media, and modern fashion trends in our lives today, these old things are just memories to many. Sometimes, interestingly enough, after a while, these things resurface, but in ways that they are vintage or retro, like people actually want to wear brands from the 80s, apparel of game titles for gaming consoles years ago.
