As we all know blockchain works through a complete chain system. Some numbers form a block of data together. And those blocks are given a unique id. Which is 64 numbers. That number is in rough hexadecimal form. A to F and 1 - 9. Each block has its own hash value .

The most interesting thing is that in addition to each block having its own hash number, the hash number of the entire block is also saved. And thus a connection is made between the blocks.

Now if you make any changes to the data of a block then its hash will change as well. This will cause the next block to be error. Because we know that each block stores the hash number of its previous block. When a block is created with lots of data, this block go to the fully verified node and ask it to be stored in the blockchain.

But the node first checks the verification of that block. After it is verified the block will stored in the main blockchain. And on Steemit we know those nodes as "Witnesses".

This is why Witnesses are called the head of the Steem ecosystem. Basically they are keeping our Steam blockchain normal. Now the big thing is that since they are helping to balance the blockchain's eco system, what do they get in return? So , when nodes verify one block and add those blocks to the main blockchain, they get SP in return.

We can see steem witness list from Here . We can vote 30 witness maximum .
