Introduction

Yes, it is true that the cryptographic signatures play a very important and vital role when it comes to ensuring and making sure of the authenticity, integrity, and trustworthiness of all digital information in its system.

And again yes, the Schnorr signatures, is a type of digital or cryptographic signature scheme, which clearly does everything a cryptographic signature would, it also it offer several advantages which the traditional signature algorithms do not offer at least not in the same degree including efficiency and security.

Humans in their search for innovations and advancement that is if they already haven't will soon shock the world with the introduction of a quantum computer and this all good until we hear about the risk and threat it poses to traditional cryptographic systems if it is implemented in the cryptographic network, leaving nothing out including even the Schnorr cryptographic signatures

Quantum computers poses a threat because they have the potential to solve certain mathematical problems, such as the integer factorization and discrete logarithms, much more efficiently and in a fraction of the time that the other classical computers can.

As a result if a sufficiently powerful quantum computer were to be developed, it would have to be banned from being used to solve cryptographic problems otherwise it could compromise the security of Schnorr signature and render it obsolete.

Another risk and challenge and one of the primary risks facing and associated with Schnorr signatures is the errors it is prone and vulnerable to during its implementation in the system.

For we imperfect humans full of flaws writing a secure cryptographic code can be and is well known to be difficult, and as a result we make certain small errors and miss them in the implementation of the schnorr signature which can lead to the impending vulnerability of the system.
