INTRODUCTION

The self certified cryptographic signature is a digital signature scheme based on certificate signature, it was created, developed and introduced by these three individuals Horng Twu Liaw, Der Tsai Lee, and Chi Sung Liu in the year 1996, the signature was created by these individuals with the aim of reducing any kind of dependency on third party certificate authorities, but instead allowing and giving users the opportunity to certify their public keys by themselves.

This signature scheme facilitates the simplification of key management, it basically has the ability to combine the public key verification process with the signature itself and as a result making it more stress free and because of the simultaneous nature eliminates any chance or time for points of failure, in this post of mine I am going to be explaining and discussing some of the importance of the self certified cryptographic signatures to the blockchain networks.

Additionally owing to the fact that the self certified cryptographic signature eliminates the need for the centralized third party certificate authorities it helps to maintain the status of blockchain networks as being decentralized through and through, and in all areas of its mechanisms.
