Previously there was no community on steemit. Content was sorted based on various tags. Later the community system was launched. This concept of community system was novel. After being community based, the popularity of this platform has increased .

Currently there are communities with different names based on different countries or on specific topics. Since it is a decentralized platform, the community can be opened by anyone. It is freedom for everyone. And opening a community is not too difficult. But managing the community properly is really difficult. I have seen many communities so far that have failed before reaching the peak of success. And many did not succeed. Failed at first and gave up.

So far I have seen several initiatives taken by the Steemit team to support various quality communities and bring them to a better level. But due to the capricious and greedy behavior of many community admins, they were not possible. Power growth of a community is very important. You can't go with Steemit team support for the rest of your life. We must acquire the power to support ourselves. And this opportunity has been given repeatedly by Steemit team. Many money greedy community admins have left the community with their pockets full of steem.

Those community active members are the ones who suffer the most. They get worried about their position. I saw a community that was all about food. I'm not mentioning names. Huge amount of support was given from Steemit in this community. Very good were the community topics and their activities. And that community could bring a reputation for the platform in the future. But the admin of that community just wanted to get rich. Earned money by exploiting general users.

He has received so much support, that a good community admin would have made their community a self-sustaining community. This is what the steemit team has always wanted But dishonest people have taken advantage of this good support.

I have some advice for those who are going to open a new community or those who are running a community. Here are what I think:-

  • First of all, one should think of opening the community with clear thinking, benevolent attitude, hard working and the mindset of teaching mentality.
  • Second, pick a specific topic that you have expertise in and that you feel you can manage the community very well.

  • Then select a meaningful and catchy name in accordance with the assigned topics.

  • Then write some rules for the community in the community description
  • It is also important to create banners and logos for the community at the very first stage.
  • Then hiring some moderators for the community. It is better not to rush this task. Later, when various active members of the community show their good work, it is also a good thing to appoint some users as moderators.

  • Community official account active key shared with admin moderators. They will be mentally calm and enjoy working. Moreover, keeping the key with only one person is dangerous. If one person has the key, if that key is somehow lost, the entire community will be shut down.

  • Organizing different competitions every week.

  • Providing guidelines for users.

  • Abuse Monitoring.

  • Curation from community official accounts.

  • Increase interaction with users.

  • Increasing connectivity with users on Discord, Telegram or any other medium.

  • Taking necessary steps to increase the content quality of each user.

  • Leveling users based on their performance in the community. In this, the user works better with the aim of achieving better levels. It is quite effective.

  • Focus on quality engagement.

By following these things it is possible to create a good community. I will say these from my point of view. There may be mistakes here. I would also like to see your points in the comment box. Anyway, enough talked about community controllers. Community members are also required to follow certain rules. For example:-

  • Be respectful of all community rules.

  • Try to participate in all competitions organized by the community.

  • Vote and comment on community other members' posts.

  • Community pin posts should be read carefully.

  • Staying connected to the community's official social media such as Discord, Telegram, Twitter, etc.

  • All users should support all legitimate initiatives of community.

By following the above mentioned points, a community will reach a great position. Being a community should be a place of joy. It is very important to create an environment where everyone likes to spend time here. With everyone's clean efforts Steemit will reach a unique height very soon.

Today I am leaving. This was my first post in this community. I have already seen many people sharing their content in this community. This is going to be a pretty good community. It would be great to see all community admins and moderators in one place. thank you

Hardworking people like @ngoenyi, @marlyncabrera, @lavanyalakshman and me who have worked and developed communities like Steamfoods, and Best of India are very disappointed and thank you so much for voicing it here.

Yes,those communities earn money by our support, then after simply shutdown and enjoying our money.

Steemfood earn 100k + steem,they loot us.

The main goal for a community should be get a base of active users who will receive the guidance and the motivation to create content in a topic, not attract support, if you work on that and build a solid route for a specific content type the support will come to you.

Thank you friend

Pretty meaningful insights and suggestions @rex-summon , i am shock as well that those high earnings community before are gone now. I never posted in steemfoods but sometimes i visit their community before because i am interested to learn different dishes from various countries. I agree as well that branding is important before starting a community, which creating logos and graphics necessary for a community.

Hello @rex-sumon
Undoubtedly a very interesting topic of discussion that you have brought, as well as the number of recommendations. I am a community manager myself, and as you say, it is not easy to make it grow.

I also do not explain why when they talk about the communities that closed and left with the power of vote do not mention them, everyone knows who they are, in addition, it is clear the damage that the closure of Steem Foods community did to the confidence of users, in addition to the sports communities that closed, among others ...
