STEEM is a blockchain just like other blockchain but the difference is that this is social media based blockchain but still there are also some forks and updates in STEEM blockchain that I am going to share today.

• STEEM blockchain is basically social media based blockchain and I have already talked about it but in this blockchain users receive reward in the form of STEEM when they create and curate quality content.

• STEEM blockchain have its history since 2016 and their also some of the past that I am going to share and these forks also results in creation of new chains.

• Hive fork is one of the most significant and noticeable fork in the history of STEEM blockchain and exact date of happening I don't remember but it happened in the month of March in 2020.

• If I talked about initiation of hive fork then there was a group of community members that disagreed with some of the rules and regulations of STEEM blockchain which results in hive fork.

• Now we can understand that hive fork resulted in creation of new blockchain which is called hive now but the main purpose is for the maintenance of more decentralization and governance of the community and nothing other purpose was.

• Hive blockchain introduced alternations to the conssensus mechanism distribution of tokens and structure of governance as compared to STEEM blockchain.

• Following the situations now STEEM and hive has became to separate blockchains in which there are their own communities and separate tokens for distribution to their users as a reward.

• It was December 2020, which was the time of another fork in which there was Tron or TRX acquisition and subsequent hard fork.After TRX acquisition curiosity and controversy developed within STEEM ecosystem so it has resulted in hard fork which was STEEM classic.

• Major purpose of STEEM classic was to preserve original principles of STEEM and was to maintain its community governance.Due to this hard fork it permitted STEEM holders to claim equal amount of STEEM classic tokens.

• These were some of the updates in this blockchain and major focus of all these updates was to improve over all experience of users improve the level of scalability in blockchain and improve the over all governance mechanism.

• Introduction of RC which are resource credits system was one of the most significant update in this blockchain and major purpose of this system is to address some of the issues like congestion in network by allocation of resources depending upon the staking and activities of users.

• In STEEM blockchain there was also improvements we have seen that work related to distribution of the word algorithm as well as introduction of some of the new features for those people who create quality content.

It is worthy to note that in this blockchain forks and different updates have multiple and alternative impacts at community and all if a system of blockchain which results in new community is creation differences in distribution of token and improvements in government structures but I consider this much important that being a steemian we all should have this information that's why I tried my best to explain it in my simple words and hopefully it would be understood for everyone to read.
