How are you? Hope so everyone would be safe and sound just like me as I am also safe Alhamdulillah.....

Federated byzantine agreement 🤝 is my today topic that I am going to share so I would start it just like before from its basics and I would end it by giving you an example so that my topic would be more understandable for all of you....

Federated byzantine agreement is basically a kind of consensus algorithm that allows multiple nodes to agree at shared statement even if there are malicious nodes present also so it is a kind of distributed system in which nodes seems to be very well structured and organised into their federations and each federation is allowed to operate in an independent way.

Nodes communicate with each other to access a consensus for validity and ordering of transactions in federated Byzantine agreement. Just like traditional byzantine fault tolerance algorithms , federated Byzantine agreement don't require each and every nodes to agree upon each and every decision.We all know that federations are formed but still each and every federation have their own quorum which contains mini nodes and you can say that these are subset of nodes that should always agree at the same decision and if they would not agree then it would be considered invalid.

When I talk about working of federated Byzantine agreement then there are different steps included in its working;

First of all each and every node would be responsible in sending its proposed value to another node within quorum slice. After that is not would be responsible in collecting all the proposals and then further they would be send to rest of network. After that nodes would help each other in evaluation of all the received proposals and would determine the value which would be most popular and at last there would be a consensus at which all nodes reach collectively and it will become them shared state of network.

Definitely if I am talking about federated byzantine agreement then there are also many benefits associated with it so first benefit is scalability so each federation as is operating in independence way without any requirement of all nodes 5o present to process each and every transaction so in this way system would be feel very free to handle large number of transactions so it would permit for high throughput and fast confirmation times of transactions.

When I talk about another benefit and advantage of federated byzantine agreement then it is fault tolerance so by the use of quorum slice federated Byzantine agreement would make sure that even if there are some numbers of nodes that are malicious than as long as if there is a subset of honest nodes in each federation then consensus can still be reached and it can't be hindered.It would make in this way federated byzantine agreement more resilient towards different attacks.

There are different projects in which federated Byzantine agreement is applied like if I give an example in one word then it is Stellar project which is using it for achieving consensus among its network of validators which in return making the transactions more fast and secure.

Now I want to give you an imaginary example by which this topic would be more clear to understand to one of you so you can imagine that there is an network of banks which is using federated Byzantine agreement for agreed upon in the validity of financial transactions and each bank is forming a federation with group of other banks. When the transaction would initiate or start then each and every Bank would send their proposals to their respective federations and then all the federations would communicate with each other and after that they would agreed on a single consensus for the transaction validity. By the use of it now you can understand that how Bank make their transactions more secure efficient and fast.

That was all about my topic explanation and from real life I have told you a project which is using and implementing on their network FBA and after that I have also elaborated by topic by the help of an imaginary example so I am hopeful that the topic was very clear to you and now you can also understand that how it is giving benefit through its implementation so I am satisfied after giving you clear understanding of my topic....
