To purchase Steem, select "Buy Steem" from your wallet, which is located in the top right corner.

When you click it will redirect to the exchange poloniex, a trading platform for STEEM and Steem Dollars, or SBD. You can turn any of these two tokens into STEEM POWER by purchasing and transferring them to your steemit.com wallet, which will increase your influence on the platform and the money you receive for your work.

You need to sign up or log in to buy steems from poloniex.
After purchasing some STEEM or SBD from Poloniex, you must visit DEPOSITS & WITHDRAWALS and select the Withdraw link next to your STEEM Balance on the right.

A window with the fields Address, Memo, and Amount will appear. In order to effectively transfer the STEEM coins to your steemit.com account and wallet, you need to fill in these with the necessary data.
