HOW TO MAKE TOUR YUMMY HOMEMADE MEAT-PIE..

Hello my fellow Hiveans, it's been a hectic period for me. Taking orders from customers and trying had to meet up with their demands and to satisfy them. So I thought it wise to share with y'all how I made this mouth watery snack.

So for my Meat-pie, I used the following ingredients and measurements. I hope to be explicit and detailed... Happy reading.🤗🤗

FOR THE DOUGH, I NEED;
Flour 500grms / 5cups
Butter 250grms / 1 sachet butter
Baking powder 1tsp
Water 2/3cup
Pinch of salt (optional) bit if using a salted butter, I will advise you skip this.

For the Meat pie filling, you will need;
2medium Irish potato
2medium carrot
1medium onion
500grms Minced meat (you can still use the package corned beef)
Maggie
Thyme
Salt to taste(optional)
1cup water
2tablespoon flour
2tbsp of oil
Please note that this measurements are subjected to change depending on how many pies you want to gat out of it. For me, this recipe will make like 10 meatpies..

Now let's make the dough:
Put your flour in a bowl, add baking powder and pinch of salt(very little, the dough will get it’s taste from the filling)

Put your butter and rub in, you mix until it looks all crumby.

Start adding your cold water little by little. Don't over knead your dough
Cover the dough for a while (this makes the dough elastic).

Meat pie filling procedure:
Pill the Irish potatoes, scrap the carrots, wash both and dice into cubes. Peel and wash onions, also cut into very tiny pieces
On low heat, Add oil in a frying pan or pot, add onions, stir fry for a bit and add your minced meat and stir till it turns pale.
Pour cup of water and allow it cook, add potatoes and carrots and allow it soften.
Mix 2tbsp of flour into half cup of water and pour in your filling)the flour helps it to be thickened and not watery). Allow it cook a bit and take off from the heat. Allow it cool down completely.

Break 1 egg and whiskit..set aside(this is for closing your meatpie and rubbing for a shine).

Now let's prepare the pies;

Roll your dough out on your work surface.

Place it on your Meat-pie cutter then place your meat filling and close.

To close, rub your egg on the edges of the circle and close, ensure you take off the excess dough. (You can use fork to press it down the meat pie) then place on a baking tray.

Keep repeating the process until you've exhausted the dough.
You can use your fork to create holes at the top, this again is optional..Use you baking brush to rub the egg wash on the pies for a perfect look

Bake in medium heat until golden brown then BOOM, our Meat-pie is ready for consumption..
