INTRODUCTION

Hello guys,
I am so delighted to be a partaker of this amazing contest which was organised by the @steemitfoods community and sponsored by @gbenga.

Today, I want to participate in this contest by preparing my native food. The name is Abacha or commonly known as Africa Salad. On my first visit to my uncle in Ezzagu in Enugu state Nigeria, I was welcomed with a plate of Abacha. When I asked why Abacha he said it is the riches food loved by all. Without much time wasted, let's dive into how to make Abacha.

Ingredients

  • 2 handfuls of Abacha
  • 1 cups ugba (ukpaka)
  • A cup of red palm oil
  • Dry fish
  • 2 onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 3 cubes of Maggi
  • utazi
  • crayfish

Below is a picture of all the ingredients used before and after washing.

Preparation of Abacha

After I have arranged everything I needed, I put a cup of water on fire these are dependant on the size of my Abacha. It's not compulsory to use hot water, you can use cold water too.
Step 1
Soak the Abacha for 2 minutes in the water and put it in a sieve to drain.

Step 2
Put your palm oil in the pot and allow it to fry for at least 30 seconds.

When that is done, you add little onions
IMG20210320155823.jpg
to the pot and allow it for another 20 seconds then add your pepper
IMG20210320155834.jpg
still give it another 20 seconds then add a cube of Maggie
IMG20210320155920.jpg
Then allow it for another 30 seconds This is to enable all the ingredients to cook in the same proportion then add, you Abacha
IMG20210320160109.jpg
and your ugba

and stir it very well until everything is well mixed. Then add your fish
IMG20210320160155.jpg
to it immediately and stir it too. After about a minute, you add your utazi

and taste it to be sure that everything is in the required proportion then you bring it down. That is all. It should look like this
