Pain Perdue that I made earlier for our tea time!

Greetings of the day beautiful people of Steemfoods!

I hope you are all doing great and spending a nice day...in whichever part of the world you are!

As usual I had a very busy day today, with lots of foods! But today I want to show you a recipe I made earlier together with my daughter...

Pain Perdue with Nutella and Banana!

Cheap...easy to make...delicious...

To make it you will simply need :

  • Left over bread or stale bread
  • Raw Sugar
  • Milk Powder
  • Vanilla Essence
  • Eggs
  • Butter to cook

IMG_20211214_153126_edit_158144590201388.jpg

Make the batter first...

The batter to dip in our slices of bread must be of a consistency of Crepes batter...semi thick like!

You just have to start by mixing 2 eggs with sugar and whisk well!

Add in the milk powder and vanilla essence

Check the consistency and if too thick, add in little water.

Taste the batter, must be sweet.

Slice up the bread...

Add butter to a pan...

Once the butter is melted and hot enough, dip the slices of bread in the batter and put on the pan to cook.

Let the soaked bread slices to cook gently for a minute or so - check the coloration from time to time...

Flip them and let cook the other side!

Once you have a nice golden brown coloration on both sides, the pain perdue are ready...

I usually sprinkle them with a cinnamon and icing mix, but this time I opted for Nutella and banana slices!

Et voila...bon apetit friends!

Below is our tea time table that my daughter and I prepared earlier! It was so much fun and so happy that she is interested in coming to the kitchen with us, help and learn!

Maybe...she'll be a chef too, who knows!?

Hi Chef,
A great recipe! I'll definitely try this out.

Quick question, can we use fresh milk instead of milk powder?

Regards.

Hello my friend! Yes, fresh milk is a better option actually!
As I did not have it at home, I went with the powdered one!
