Beef stew with white rice and salad

Greetings my dear passionate cooks, in this opportunity I want to share with you a delicious recipe of the Venezuelan daily life, in which a series of ingredients rich in carbohydrates and proteins of animal and vegetable origin are combined. The best thing about this post is the help I have received from my eldest son José Ernesto, who has been interested in the last months in learning how to cook, so you will see in the images the intervention of my little boy of only 9 years old. Without further ado, I will describe the recipe.

Beef stew:

1 kg of beef in steak
2 large ripe tomatoes
1 large onion
2 garlic
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Spices to taste (oregano, turmeric, rosemary, pepper, curry, adobo).
Salt to taste
Sliced cooked salad
2 large carrots
2 large potatoes
3 eggs
150 gr vanilla beans
Dressing (mayonnaise, vinegar mustard, salt, ground turmeric and pepper).

Carne guisada

First we must cut the meat into medium-sized cubes, place it in a large frying pan and season it with the mixture of all the ground spices (oregano, turmeric, rosemary, pepper, curry, adobo), the crushed garlic paste with the salt, and the two tablespoons of oil. It is left aside to macerate a little so that the flavors are concentrated. At the same time, the onion and tomato are cut into julienne strips and then placed on top of the previously seasoned meat. Cook for approximately 20 minutes, until the meat is well cooked.

Then we season with oil, garlic, salt and spices to taste.

Finally, add the vegetables and cook for 20 minutes.

While the meat is cooking, we proceed to prepare the salad. To do so, the carrot, potato and eggs are cooked for approximately 20 minutes and the beans are placed 15 minutes after cooking the aforementioned, since they cook faster.

Once cooked, remove the peel and cut into slices, arranging layers of each of the ingredients. The dressing is made by mixing 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon of mustard, 2 tablespoons of vinegar, salt, turmeric and pepper to taste.
