I blended my beans with my newly purchased blender, I then prepared Beans cake(Akara)|by @ngoenyi
INTRODUCTION
All these while, making beans cake (Akara) have been a night mare for me . The thought of taking it to the market discourages me. But I was very enthusiastic today to make my beans cake. Please here are the ingredients I used in making it.
INGREDIENTS
- The first on the list is beans. I used honey beans for it. I used 3 cups
- Fresh pepper to taste,
- Salt to taste
- Onions, one medium size
- Garlic and turmeric 2 and 1
- Vagetable oil for frying
Procedures
- I soaked the beans for ten minutes. I then used my morter and pestle to squeeze the back out. I later used water to wash off the back to get what I want to use
This is the picture of the beans when I am adding water to soak it
This is the beans in the morter, as I was squeezing the back out from the inner.
You can see the beans, fresh pepper, salt, onions, turmeric and garlic. They are ready for blending.
- I then used by bender, to crush the beans, along with fresh pepper, garlic and turmeric.to smooth paste.
- I poured the paste out in a pot and turn it vigorously to mix. I also added salt at this juncture.
- Tips: it is not advisable to add onion to the paste before frying as it can cause the beans paste to scatter in the oil. Instead, add it after scoping to the frying pan.
- The next thing was to begin frying. I placed my dry frying pan on the fire, I added the quantity of oil that will be enough for dip frying. I then added onions to the fire to release its taste and fragrance to the oil.
- When the oil is hot, I started scoping the beans paste little at a time and deep fried till golden brown. I fried them I'm batches until I am done with them all.
- I then garnished with onions and pepper
We then enjoyed it with mixed cereal pudding as you can see in the picture below
