Walking through the yams market

I am with so much excitement in writing this piece to share with my readers. It is about demonstrating to the world what we are blessed with. This is Africa, Ghana. Food is one of the commonest and cheapest items that we always will boast oof. Compared to some other places of the world, food is an expensive item that people spend so much money in getting themselves well fed. But it isn't so here in Ghana and some other parts of Africa, so to speak. The country is so much blessed with a rich fertile land that almost support the enormous growth of all plants that are mostly readily available in this part of our world.

This is one of the very few reasons we always have food available here in Ghana all year round. You may not see the full market tour l am sharing today but l try as much as l can to share with you the experience of my walk through this market. It is called Moro market located in the garden city of Ghana, Ashanti region. This is a mini market found closer to the city l live where people go to buy food. The market has almost everything that everyone needs at the market place. It comes with many different sessions depending on the item sold.

And so, l got myself here at the sector of the Moro market where only yams are sold. People who came to the market for yams would always prefer to pass by this place simply because it's sold at a cheaper price. l am not surprised this is where the retailers come to shop to sell the yams to consumers in their locality. That is not to say the place is made or open for wholesale and retail only. I have many times been here for my personal purchase. And the price is as three times lesser than to buy some yams from the community market. Since it is a large market, vehicles are seen carrying the bought items for the sellers to their various destinations.

It will surprise you to know that, a big tuber of yam from this place will cost you $0.90 which is less than a dollar. An amount of 5 dollars will get you a good number of tubers of yam to feed the entire family for about a month. It is such a good thing to see farmers are doing so well to ensure yams and many other foodstuffs been cultivated every moment of the year. I truly love yams. Especially when is prepared with a garden eggs sauce or any delicious stew.

This is where my journey ends with the tour at this yam market. There is so much beauty all over this place. Sellers and buyers share so much fun and relate so good to each other when market is in session. I love coming here maybe once every month.
