How To Prepape Delicious "Bhapa Pitha" ( Steamed Cake) || Traditional Food Of Bangladesh

Hello Everyone! I'm @mahirabdullah from Bangladesh 🇧🇩. Today, I'm going to share with you how to make traditional winterly food "Steamed Cake" which is known as " Bhapa Pitha" in Bangladesh.

Ingredients

  • 3 Cups Rice Flour
  • 2 Cups Fresh Coconut
  • 1.5 Cup Water
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1.5 Cup Date Molasses (Broken into small pieces)
  • A small round bowl to shape cake
  • Special Steamed Cake making pot (Earthenware Pot)
  • Cheese Cloth

Cooking Process

Step 1:-

First fill half of the earthenware pot by water and boil the water by covering the pan with a lid.

Coarsely break the date molasses into small pieces

Step 3:-

Coconut and flour powder should also be ready. Mix flour, 1/2 cup coconut, salt (according to quantity) and sprinkle some water on the flour at the same time. Keep this aside for 20-30 minutes.

Step 4:-

Put the flour mixture in the small bowl in the way that only half of the bowl is covered.
Put some molasses & coconut in the middle of the bowl
Cover the molasses & coconut by spreading more of the flour mixture

After putting all these things in the small bowl, it will look like the picture above. Fill 3/4 bowls in the similar way.

Step 5:-

The pan should be well covered with cloth. Place 3/4 bowl on the cloth. The bowls should be upside down.

Take out the bowl carefully and cover it well with a lid so that vapor can not go out. Steam cook for 8-10 mins

Step 6:-

After 8-10 minutes, unwrap the cake from the cloth carefully and put it in a plate with the help of spoon.

Thus, our delicious "Bhapa Pitha" (Steamed Cake) is cooked. It is better to eat the cake as soon as possible after making it, because it does not taste good when it hardens later.
