The Food Diary Game | Season 4 | 12/07/2021 - #sfcharity50pc (#club5050) | Grilled Octopus, Fish and Pork for the Day
Greetings SteemFoods Community!
I have finally decided to post my Food Diary Game Entry for Season 4 right after I joined #club5050. This is my first ever participation in the community since I just recently started my journey on Steemit. For today, I will be sharing the grilled foods I cooked at home. I have been a stay-at-home mother since the pandemic started, so I usually do the cooking and everyday I try to come up with something different.
In the Morning
I woke up earlier than usual to prepare for today’s breakfast. I asked my kids the night before for their specific food request for this day, since I have promised to reward them for a good academic performance in school. Both of them had a long thought about it and said in unison that they missed grilled food. So I committed myself to cooking grilled food the whole day.
For our breakfast, we had a very special grilled pork.
Preparation Time: 1 hour
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Servings: 4
The ingredients are as follow:
Ingredients | Quantity |
---|---|
Pork chops | 4 pieces |
Calamansi | 3 pieces |
Soy sauce | 1/2 cup |
Crushed garlic | 4 cloves |
Salt | 1/2 teaspoon |
Ground black pepper | 1/2 teaspoon |
Cayenne powder | 1/2 teaspoon |
Sugar | 1/2 teaspoon |
I cut the pork chops into small slices as preferred. For the pork marinade, I mixed the citrus juice, garlic, ground black pepper, cayenne, and soy sauce in a bowl. Then I added the pork slices. I waited for an hour to marinate the pork. While waiting, I prepared the sauce or sawsawan.
At noon
At noon, I decided to prepare something different. So I went to the market to buy foods that I can grill for lunch and dinner. Then I went home. I prepared tenderized octopus, char-grilled with a squeeze of fresh lemon. As you can see, it looks delicious and it is indeed tasty according to my daughters.
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 1 hour
Servings: 4
Ingredients | Quantity |
---|---|
Octopus, head removed | 2 1/2 pounds |
Extra virgin olive oil | 2 tablespoons |
Lemon | 1 piece |
Salt | 1 pinch |
Ground black pepper | 1/2 teaspoon |
Towards the evening
At night, we had grilled fish. My daughters are not much of a fish lover but every time I make this recipe, they very much enjoy it.
Preparation Time: 1 hour
Cook Time: 20 minutes
First, I combined garlic, olive oil, lemon, juice, salt and pepper in a bowl. Then placed the bangus fish in separate plate, and pour the marinade over the fish. Wait for 1 hour for the marinating process. Since our griller is not functioning properly, I decided to make the traditional outdoor grill.
I removed the fish from the marinade and drained off the excess. Next I proceed to grill the fish 10 minutes per side or until it is done.
Here is my grilled fish for our dinner. This was a very successful day for me. I managed to grill different foods for three different set of meals. I am so proud of this. Thank you so much for dropping by.
See you in my next Food Diary Game entry!
With that reward I'm sure, they will keep up their high grades every year. Congrats kiddos!
Thank you! I hope so too.
