Every region of the world have that spectacular and widely consumed food, loved by almost all, that food that cuts across all tribes and class, and has become a huge business opportunity for people.
I'm a foodie and very much interested in food related matters, I really love food and food business, please be my guest as I take you on a tour of one of Nigeria's delicious and widely consumed dishes ,It's also one of my favorites, It's called bole /bor'leh/

IMG_20210906_140116_981.jpg

Bole' as it is commonly called is one of the most popular and sought after dishes in Nigeria especially the south of Nigeria, it is a fast-food and is sold in almost every Street in the south of Nigeria.
It basically comprises of roasted (grilled) plantain, roasted (grilled) yam and roasted grilled (fish) served with a pepper source.

This dish is believed to have originated from bayelsa state, a state in the southern part of Nigeria ,this believe stems from the fact that the name bole` as a household name for this dish originated from bayelsa state and the major food items for preparing this dish which are fish and plantain are the major farm produce of the people of Bayelsa. Bole in bayelsa language ( ijaw language) means roasted(grilled) plantain and has now been adopted by everyone in Nigeria as It is now a common dish in Nigeria. Because of its deliciousness and sumptuousness it is served in most occasions in the south. occasions like marriage ceremonies , birthday parties, funerals etc.

the Bole` business

one very remarkable thing about this food (bole') is it's marketability . The preparation of this food as a business venture has become a source of income/revenue to thousands of people in Nigeria especially among the poor and middle class, it has created thousands of jobs and still has the potentials of accommodating many more people. It is so lucrative and does not require so much to start-up. You can easily find this food vendors at strategic points along the streets in their make-shift umbrella stands and their local grill made with a metal net put over a metal basin containing red-hot burning charcoal. The food is loved by all and so patronage has never been an issue for vendors of this delicacy. Thanks to bole', many people now have jobs and can cater for their family.

Requirements for starting up a bole` business

one very amazing thing about this business is that starting up this business here in Nigeria doesn't require so much , with just a grill, a food stand ( made with a big umbrella ), and the necessary food items, you're good to go. With as low as 30000 naira/ $60 /47steem. you can start up your own bole' business, I am planning on starting one very soon, I hope you all will patronise me, don't worry I will make sure steem is one of your payment methods .

So if you ever visit Nigeria, make sure you don't miss this delicacy, you could try it out where ever you are, like you've seen, it's easy to prepare , you'll thank me later . I will be sharing with you some other amazing foods from other regions in of my country. I'll be right back anticipate my next post

You dishes looks yummy 😋😋😋😋. Thank you for sharing.

It will be wise if you look for the right hashtags when you want to prepare food posts. It will help your post to be noticed easily. Using club hashtags when you are not supposed to use them is not right.

Am looking forward to more of your food posts. You can join the food diarygame

I can't understand people who visit different countries but keep visiting McDonald's and other transcontinental stuff. I mean you get a chance to try something unique and you go for things you consume every day? that's strange

Food tourism is entertainment which is underestimated. And it's sad. Not only do you lose a huge part of a culture of a place you visit but also you don't contribute to the local catering, little shops and entrepreneurs. It's not sustainable travelling IMO. I do get though not many people care about it and about the food they get. But that's not about me. I always travel with https://www.secretfoodtours.com/ because I want to get a food experience which is impossible to reach at my place.
