" You don't need a silver fork to eat good food "
Hello to all beautiful people of steemit especially to the steemfoods community!
Today I will be featuring one of the most known finger foods that is loved by many, Calamari. I will be showing you how to make spicy and extra crispy Calamari that you can whip up in no time. I went to the fish market early this morning to grab some freshly caught squid that we will be transforming into an amazing dish. It's going to be crispy, a little bit spicy, and definitely not rubbery! So let's get started.
Here Are The Ingredients In Making Crispy Spicy Calamari:
500 grams Squid, cleaned and cut into rings
4 cups All Purpose Flour
2 cups Panko Bread Crumps
3/4 cup Evaporated Milk
3 Whole Eggs
2 1/2 tablespoons Chili Powder
1 tablespoon Onion Powder
1 teaspoon White Pepper Powder
3 pinches White Sugar
1 piece American Lemon
3/4 cup Mayonnaise
Half Liter Cooking Oil
Salt and Pepper to Taste
Directions:
Pat dry squid with paper towel.
Cut squid into serving pieces.
Season squid rings with 3 pinches salt, 2 pinches black pepper.
Squeeze some lemon juice.
On another bowl, pour in 3/4 cup evaporated milk.
Season milk with salt then give it a whisk.
Put in squid on milk then marinate overnight.
Meanwhile, spiced up mayonnaise with 1 tablespoon chili powder, 1 tablespoon onion powder and 1 teaspoon white pepper.
Squeeze some lemon juice on spiced mayo then stir to combine.
Transfer marinated squid on mayonnaise. Mix well.
Whisk 3 eggs with some salt.
Deep in squid into the eggs. Mix well and set aside.
Add bread crumbs, 1 1/2 tablespoon chili powder, pinches of sugar on all pupose flour. Whisk to combine.
Threw in squid into the flour then you are to fry.
Heat oil over medium heat then fry squid rings for 3 minutes.
After 3 minutes or calamari turns to golden brown. Transfer to rack to remove excess oil.
Lastly, to present, stack Crispy Spicy Calamari into a nice plate and serve.
I hope you enjoyed today's recipe and I hope you learned the secret to making crispy but not rubbery Calamari rings. Give it a try and I'm sure your family will love it!
