SteemFoods Contest -17- ǀ Promote Your Favorite Street Food Restaurant ǀ Filipino Food Taste

Hello beautiful people of the SteemFoods Community. How are you doing? I hope everything is fine. Today I will be participating in this contest initiated by @steemitfoods which is ‘Promote Your Favorite Street Food Restaurant’. I am very glad to join in this contest because not only will I be able to share my street food experience but also I can help in promoting small businesses in our local community.

Occassionally, my boyfriend and I go on a date. We go to different places and we love to eat out. This serves as our bonding moment. I think our love for food is our common denominator.

We go to different restaurants, but there is this one street food place that we often go to because of the affordability of their food and the authentic taste of the popular food in the Philippines which is ‘silog’. Silog is a class of Filipino breakfast dishes containing sinangag (fried rice) and itlog (fried egg). They are served with various viands or ulam usually meat dishes such as tapa, longganisa or ham.

This place is called 'BLINK STREET FOOD'. It is named as such because of the idea that they are selling instant foods such as noodles, drinks and frozen foods which can easily be cooked whenever there is customer. So in a blink of an eye, foods are ready to be served.

This is the exterior of their restaurant. Its plainly simple yet very inviting to the passersby as they have wide area and plenty of tables and chairs to dine in. They are just located right along the busy streets of Mactan Lapu-Lapu City.

They only have a small store but packed with many instant goods. Every weekends their place is jam-packed. By the way, they have eight branches in our town but due to pandemic they close the other four branches. This crisis really hit them hard. But now they are slowly getting back up.

As I've mentioned earlier, they offer variety of 'silog' that usally goes in a combo. It can be seen in their displayed menu and comes with the corresponding prices. I must say this is a 'go-to' place for people who are in tight budget but are craving for tasty food.

This time we ordered their best selling item which is the sisigsilog, spamsilog and the ever famous spicy noodles with egg.

This is my boyfriend's favorite, sisigsilog. It is a Filipino dish composed of sisig (pork leftovers with spices), sinangag (garlic fried rice)and itlog (fried egg). With a delicious medley of velvety soft pork bits, onions and chilli peppers tossed in tangy and savory sauce, I would say this is a perfect beer match. You can enjoy this dish for Php74 or $1.53 only.

This is my favorite, spamsilog. It is a traditional dish originating from the Philippines consisting of garlic fried rice, fried egg, and Spam, the canned, trade-marked and square-shaped mixture of pork, water, salt, sugar, potato starch and sodium nitrate. Spam is a brand of luncheon meat. This is one of the favorite breakfast of the Filipinos. The price for this is only Php79 or $1.63.

We always accompany our silog orders with a hot and spicy noodles with eggs. It completes our Blink Street food dine in. In just Php35 or $0.72 you can taste the tangy and savory taste of the Philippine instant noodles.

Now this is a proof that we only spend a little amount of money. Total bill is Php208 or $4.29, that includes a bottle of coke which only cost Php20 or $0.41.

This is such a simple idea of a date. It doesn't have to be expensive and fancy. All it takes is that two people enjoying things together and being together.
