Saludos carińosos desde Japan!

Hello steemians, warm greetings from a very cold place Japan!
Today I will be sharing with you my own version of hot and spicy chicken feet. Because as of now the weather is chilling cold, I crave for hot and spicy food to ease the coldness. I got this idea from the Philippines since its price is affordable and always available.

Here are the ingredients that I used for this very easy recipe:

1kilo of chicken feet
dried chilies
1/2 cup of soy sauce
1 1/2 cup of cider or sprite (soft drinks)
3 spoonful oil
1 whole garlic
2 onions
bay leaves
5 cups of water
salt and seasoning to taste

Procedures:

  • Wash and remove all the nails of the chicken feet. Make it sure that is well cleaned.

  • add chicken feet and fry for almost 10-15minutes. As soon as it turns light brown then add water, soy sauce, cider, Let it boil for almost 30 minutes. Keep on stirring occasionally. The softer the better to achieve a better taste.

  • Once you've noticed that the chicken feet are already soft, gradually add the seasoning and salt to taste. Slowly put chilies and bay leaves.

Let it simmer for almost 20 minutes. Slowly stir it to prevent from burning.

  • Finally, it's done! It is sizzling, hot and spicy. The savory taste, the sticky sauce, the aroma of bay leaves makes your mouth watering!

  • cooking time- almost 1hour

Conclusion:

Here in Japan chicken feet are not recognized as food or shall we say not a famous food because they are very strict in anything they consumed. Unlike in the Philippines, you can find this almost in every corner of the streets. We consider it as street food. There are many ways these chicken feet are cooked. You can have it in soup base, barbeque, or battered. In other countries, they even process chicken feathers into food so they can supply food to their constituent. I was amazed! For me, this is the best innovation since the population grows in number and it is better to save food.
I asked for these from my Japanese friend rather than him throwing them instead. If they just knew, almost all parts of the chicken we do consume from the head, intestine, feet, and all other chicken parts. Only that chicken feather process into meat I haven't tested yet, as it is not yet familiar in our place.

Thank you so much #steemfoods for giving me this opportunity to share this simple and affordable recipe. Above all, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to @alikoc07, @booming01 and @steemcurator01, thank you for your support.

Sincerely,
@juichi.
