I'm @jobreyes24. Let me share with you one of the most popular Filipino foods, Lechon Kawali. It's a crispy deep-fried fork accompanied by a dipping sauce. Usually eaten with rice and best also as pulutan (appetizer during a drinking session). This is the ultimate dish that satisfies our cravings.
Ingredients | Quantity |
---|---|
Pork Liempo (cut into 4) | 1kg |
Bay Leaves | 5 pcs |
Peppercorn | 1 teaspoon |
Garlic | 6 cloves |
Onions | Half |
Salt | 2 tablespoon |
Water | 1.5 Liter |
Cooking Oil | 1 Liter |
Pepper powder | 1 tablespoon |
Garlic powder | 1 teaspoon |
Spicy powder | 1 teaspoon |
Procedures:
- Pour water in a cooking pot and boil. Add the Pork Liempo, bay leaves, garlic, onions, and peppercorn. Boil for 30 minutes until the meat gets tender.
- Remove the meat from the pot and cool down for 30 minutes.
- Rub the meat with pepper powder, garlic powder, and spicy powder.
- Heat oil in a deep pot.
- Put one piece of pork at a time and be careful coz the oil may splatters. Fry for 5 minutes and flip to the opposite side.
- Let the pork cool down and fry again until it becomes crispy.
- Cut the pork and serve with sauce and done.
After I made this recipe I immediately get a cup of rice and take my dinner. I dip my Lechon Kawali in soy sauce with chopped chilies and onions. While my friends love catsup. Please try this recipe and I'm sure you gonna love it.
