UTAN BISAYA-Filipino Style 3/11/21

Hello steemit foodies! How are you doing? Today I’m going to share to you one of the simple Filipino vegetable dish, the Utan Bisaya.

Utan Bisaya is a famous Filipino viand using a variety of vegetables. It’s english term is ”Boiled Vegetable”. In Ilocos Region it is called “Inabraw”, “Bulanglang” in Calabarzon, and “Laswa” in Western Visayas. This is a perfect dish in this trying times because aside from it is packed with vitamins and nutrients that can boost our immune system, it is also affordable especially in this pandemic we need to save money since we dont know when will this last.

So, today I am going to share to you how to prepare this Simple but Nutritious dish:

Ingredients

  1. 3 pcs okra
  2. 1 cup spinach or alugbati
  3. 1 cup calabaza squash
  4. 1 medium sized onion bulb
  5. 2 pcs medium sized tomato
  6. 3 cloves of garlic
  7. salt to taste
  8. 5 cups of water
  9. 1 cup white squash
  10. Magic Sarap
  11. Cooking Oil

How to do it?

1. Prepare all the materials and ingredients by washing the utensils to be use and slice and wash the ingredients according to its way of slicing...

2. Heat the cooking pan, and add a little cooking oil. Then, saute all the species.

3. Stir-in the red and white squash and okra. Then, pour 5 cups of water. Simmer for 10 minutes or until the squash will be soften.

4. Add the alugbati. Cover and cook for 3-5 minutes. Add some salt to taste. And transfer to a serving bowl and serve.

This dish always makes me appreciate the natural taste of vegetables and I was able to enjoy eating a delicious, and nutritious but affordable dish.
