Hello my lovely foodie steemians @steemfoods . Hope all of you are doing well ☺️. So, I'm really excited that I'm going to perticipate in the "Steemfoods Contest -25- | Prepare a Delicious and Practical Dessert Recipe ".

So, guys, I'm bengali and I'm going to share one of our traditional dessert recipe which is called - "Payesh" . I really love this dessert too much.

Our traditional dessert 'Payesh'

We Bengalis make this dessert in every special occasions like baby shower, birthday etc. This sweet has been made in the homes of Bengalis for many years. We think this food is auspicious and Lucky .

Mostly in birthday time our bengali grand mother make this dessert for their Grandson/ Granddaughter for Good luck.

In English term you can call it Rice kheer/Rice based pudding . Let's check the ingredients .

I made a video on this recipe so,I shared the link of this recipe bellow this post. check hopefully it will be helpful for you all.

Ingredients :-

This special bengali traditional dessert is prepared using 'Gobindo bhog rice' which has a short grain.This Rice has a excellent aroma and a buttery taste which makes this dessert delicious.

1.Milk- 1lit
2.Gobindobhog Rice - 50gm
(Or,you can use any short grain sticky rice)
3.Bay leaf - 2
4.Dryfruits
5.Cardamom - 3
6.Suger- 100gm/you can use as your taste

How to Make This Dessert

1.

At first On the gas and place heavy bottom pan and add 1lit of milk . Heat the milk .Keep the flame in low to medium .

After 5min, take a big spoon and keep stirring.

Now wash the 50gm of Gobindobhog rice properly.
And then add the bay leaves and rice into the milk. Stir again. In this time keep the flame medium to high.

You can understand how gradually the rice become soft and boiled and the milk is reducing.

5.

It takes 10 min almost to be kheer and then when you can see the rice is 90% boiled . Add dryfruits in the milk.
Again stir it.

You can see the changes of milk colour . And when the rice will be properly boiled , and the milk will reduce to almost half .

Add suger as your taste , I added 100gm of suger . Now again stir for few minutes.

7.

Now add cardamom powder 1tsp or you can add Broken whole cardamom using Haman Dista.

Again mix and stir 1min
and
our bengali special traditional delicious dessert - 'Payesh' is ready .

Now serve this dessert after meal and I think it is best to serve chilled . However some people like this dessert hot .

Hola. Saludos desde Venezuela, no puedo imaginarme el sabor de tu postre, pero seguro está delicioso. No recuerdo el sabor del cardamomo, pero la hoja de laurel no la usamos en dulces por aquí.
Puedo decirte que se parece mucho la preparación de un postre muy tradicional nuestro llamado Arroz con leche, al que solo le agregamos canela y ocasionalmente uvas pasas deshidratadas.
