HOW TO PREPARE NIGERIA MEAT PIE. MY RECIPE.

Good morning dear Steemians. Hope you all are doing great. I'm Ese from Nigeria. I want to show you an easy way for you to make meat pies. Meat pie is a popular snack which majority of persons enjoy eating in Nigeria. Everyone have their different way of preparation here in Nigeria, but trust me, you will enjoy my own originated method. First I will list out my ingredients and take you to my method of preparation.

*INGREDIENTS

Beef 700g

Wheat Flour 4cups

Margarine 400g

2 Carrots and 2 Irish potatoes

Baking powder 1tbs

1 medium tomato, 3 chilli peppers and half onion

curry, thyme, 1 tbs powdered garlic, 1/2 tbs fried shallot 2 cubes Maggi, 1 medium onion

My Method Of Preparation
Step 1
I Get a clean Pot, washed meat with lots of water thoroughly and put in my pot. I added all my seasoning. I added a cup of water and stirred.

I put it on medium heat and allowed to cook for 30minutes. After 30minutes, I put off the heat and packed into a small bowl.

Step 2
I got a clean choping board, poured in my beef and diced them into little particles.

Next I diced my onion, red chilli pepper and tomatoes

I did same to my carrot, Irish potatoes and put them into a small bowl.

Step 3
I got a clean pot and put on medium heat, I allowed water to dry off, I added a cooking spoon vegetable oil, I allowed to heat up.

I added in my chopped chilli pepper, onion tomato, carrot, Irish potatoes and stirred.

After 2minutes my filling is ready and I served it into a flat ceramic plate.

Step 4
MY DOUGH PREPARATION

I measured 4 cups of flour and sieved into a bowl. I added in 1/2 tbs salt, 1 tbs baking powder, 1/2 nutmeg and mixed with my fingers to enable the salt and baking powder blend with flour.

After that I added in my margarine and kept stirring till it blends also. There after
I added in water little by little and kept molding till I got a perfect texture.

Step 5
I created space on my dinning table for use as a work table for preparation of my pies. I cleaned it and spread little flour on it, and cut an average of my dough and used rolling pin to flatten it to my want.

After that I used a cup to cut into desired shapes.

After getting enough cuts to start with, I picked each cut and rolled a bit and served a table spoon of filling into and close it.

I used fork to make a edge design on it.

There after, I picked them into my oven tray and put it in the oven that is already on 20 before my meat got ready and allow to bakevfor 40minutes at 180°C
