Sauteed Bitter-Gourd with Egg by @engrbev!
Hello SteemFood pips! Last episode, we had the most famous Filipino dish called Pork Adobo and I think some of you already tried it. So, how is it? Is it good? Well, I really believe that you liked it guys so now let me show you another dish cooked by none other than me, @engrbev! :) Our dish for today is called Sauteed Bitter-Gourd with Egg.
Yes, it's a vegetable. That's the one on my left hand as you can see on the photo. The other one on my right hand is a fried milk fish. I decided to also cook some fried milk fish to partner it with the Sauteed Bitter-Gourd. Trust me, it's best to eat it together. But for now, let's jump to the Ingredients.
Ingredients
- 1 big ampalaya (bitter gourd)
- 1 medium size onion
- 1 knorr pork cubes
- 1 teaspoon fine pepper
- 1 cup water
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 3 pieces egg
- 3 pieces medium size tomato
- 5 cloves garlic
- 5 cubes of chopped pork
This one is for the fried milk fish
Now, let's check out the Procedures
First Step
First is to remove the ampalaya seeds and slice it thinly. After that, let's put the sliced ampalaya in a clean bowl and mix 1 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
Second Step
Second, Squeeze the ampalaya with salt to remove a little bitterness. It will not totally remove the bitterness of the ampalaya but it will surely lessen it. Do this until the ampalaya juice comes out. Remove the juice and set aside the ampalaya. We will not use the juice that comes out of it.
Third Step
Third is to saute the garlic and onion then add the tomatoes. Put the pork and mix it afterwards. Then, pour water and add the knorr pork cubes to add more flavor to the meat. Add the fine pepper then cover it and let it simmer until the meat is tender.
Forth Step
Forth, when the meat is tender, add the ampalaya. Mix it and add the scrambled egg. Mix it well and cover it for 3 minutes to absorb the ingredients well.
Fifth Step
Lastly, turn off the stove then transfer it to the serving playe and It’s done! 🙂
