The Food Diary Game Season 2: 01-10-21| sffcharity50pc| "Homemade food in the countryside"

in SteemFoods3 years ago

Hello, everyone I'd like to share our simple daily meals.
Cooking every meal in the country is one of the busiest chores most wives do because you don't have any options even if you don't feel like cooking, unlike in the city you can just buy at "carenderia", fast food restaurants or any nearest convenience store. The only good thing in the country is that we always got fresh vegetables. So, the most common food for us is vegetable soup or "utan" sounds healthy right?. (P.S my model for today doesn't like eating vegetable soup)😁

              BREAKFAST

Most people living in the countryside usually eat a heavy meal for breakfast because most of them work on the farm. They need to gorge themselves to have massive energy to start the day. Since it's my day off today I cooked our meals breakfast and dinner. These are some of the most common meals for breakfast. Mongo soup with moringa or "Utan mongos" with grilled dried fish or it is also good with fermented fish known as ginamos. They are best paired for having a heavy meal and precisely most people know how to make it. Today's special mongo is added with chicharon from Carcar, luckily my brother-in-law bought some on his way home from the city. In my case, I always like mongo with moringa or malunggay I always prefer this way then. Some prefer sauteed mongo with chicharron and cellophane noodles. Anyway, either of the two is the best. In addition, mongo is also best eaten with corn instead of rice.

Ingredients
1/4 monggo
moringa malunggay
1 pack chicharon(special carcar)
spring onion
1 medium-sized onion

              LUNCH

Our lunch is similar to the one we have at breakfast it was vegetable soup or "utan" again since my father likes "utan" and fermented fish or "ginamos" a lot and I like it too. This is called "utan camansi" Papa made it.

               DINNER

Locals in the country eat dinner as early as 6 pm. I think it is because in the past before the electricity reach the area we used to have the kerosene lamp as our source of light and before the advent of some technological home appliances people tend going to bed early too.
Despite the changes as time goes by some of our traits still remain. Dinner time is what most people look forward to, especially working under the heat of the sun, they expect a more delicious food to devour after a long and tiring day. So, having homemade "pancit cartoon" would be one of the best options I assumed, These foods are rich in carbohydrates, so I added "malunggay" soup with shredded fish to have variations.

Ingredients
4 pack of fresh Japanese Ramen noodle
a bit of sliced pork
a head of cabbage
1 carrot
some chopped spring onion
1 medium-sized onion
1/2 tbsp minced garlic
1 small sachet of silver swan soy sauce
1 magic sarap
1/2 cup of oil

I realized that today is utan day!!!! 🤣🤣🤣 "utan" or vegetable soup. No wonder we are almost out of malunggay plant. Anyway, vegetable soup is always present at meals because my father always feels like eating it and it is also perfect for today's weather. I hope the next day he'll have some chicken on his farm 🤣🤣🤣🤣. This is how meals are like especially when you live together with the elderly in the countryside. They have some chickens but they won't use them for the daily meals they keep them as pets 😂. Thank you for reading!!!!
