SteemFoods Contest - 17 | My Favorite Street Food Restaurant || Ngohiong House (Benz Food Express)
Hello food lovers!
It's been a while. How have you been?
Today I'm gonna share with you my favorite street food restaurant that will surely, surely makes you want to try.
It almost seems too obvious to say that the Philippines is a beautiful country to visit. But what makes it more interesting is the Filipinos’ exceptional love for food.
Philippines is not just popular for its pristine islands and colorful festivals but it’s also famous for its oh-so-good street food that will definitely make you drool. Here are the best street food in the Philippines you must try!
- Tempura
- Squid Ball
- Squid Roll
- Ngohiong
- Chorizo
- Siomai
- Chicken Pop
- Barbeque (Isaw)
BARBEQUE (Isaw)
One of the most popular Filipino street foods is the Isaw Philippines. It is pork or chicken intestines that are typically barbecued or deep-fried. One of the best things about eating Isaw and true for lots of Filipino street foods is seasoning with vinegar. Most people like to soak their Isaw in chili onion vinegar and let it absorb as much vinegar as possible.
FISH BALL, SQUID ROLL AND TEMPURA
Possibly one of the most beloved Filipino street food snacks, especially among kids in the Philippines, and throughout Southeast Asia for that matter, are fried fish balls, squid rolls and tempura as well.
Usually when you eat the street food versions of these three, there’s really only a little meat in the balls, but they also contain quite a lot of flour.
SIOMAI
Filipinos love siomai because it’s not just a snack. You can eat it at any time of the day, from breakfast to dinner. It tastes great, whether fried or steamed.
CHICKEN POPS
These tasty Tandoori Chicken Pops can be fried or grilled. Just like Isaw, Filipino also loves to soak chicken pops in chili sause and vinegar.
NGOHIONG
Ngohiong (“ngo-yong“) is one of the most popular local delicacies in Cebu. It is a Cebuano variant of the Chinese spring rolls.
Ngohiong is an affordable yet delicious dish found throughout metro cebu.
For today's snacks we only spent Php69.00 for 3 sticks of squid balls and 3 sticks squid rolls.
Street foods were meant to be just pantawid gutom or to ease hunger while you’re rushing from one thing to the next.
It's more fun in the Philippines when it comes to street foods. You will surely enjoy these affordable yet delicious dish.
Ngohiong House (Benz Food Express) is located in Mepz 1, Ibo, Lapulapu City Cebu Philippines near Mactan International Airport.
I guess that's all for today, see you next time.
Xoxo :)
