Jollof rice is a popular delicacy eaten around the globe easy to prepare and nutritious. The rice grain is goten from the heads of the rice plant.
This plant does well in various places where the soil is rich and swampy.
Jollof Rice
Here are some pictures showing how I prepared the Jollof Rice in stages and steps.
STAGE 1: The Rice
Step1
- Measure the amount of cups of rice, e.g., 6 cups, and pour it into the cooking pot.
- Add 3 litters of water.
Note: wash your hands before this process. - Turn on the cooker and put the filled out on it.
Step2
- Allow the food to boil while you are preparing things for the stew.
- When it boils, pour the rice into a filter on a bowl and fill another bowl half with water and pour the rice into it for the excess starch to go out as you turn down your cooker.
- Rinse the pot, add water, turn the cooker back on and put the pot on fire.
- Using a smaller filter, wash the rice into the pot being careful that water and fire are enemies.
Step3
- Add salt for taste, a table spoon
- Allow to boil for just 10mins. This is because it will still be strong when adding the stew.
- Turn down the fire in preparation for the stew
The rice is partly cooked or parboiled awaiting the stew.
STAGE 2: The Stew
Step1
- Get your pot or frying pan, turn the cooker on and pour oil into the pot.
Note: The water in the pot or pan after rinsing should dry off before pouring the oil in it. - Allow the pan to heat up and the oil boil.
While I was doing some other things in the kitchen, I turned back to see that the pot had started smoking. It was chocking and cloudy. @asuvic can tell.

- Put a little salt to prevent the hot oil from shooting. Put onions and fry in the oil.
- Add your tomatoe either fresh or already made. Stir well to mix well with the oil
- Taste to see if the tomatoes it cooked and start adding the seasonings.
Vegetable, specifically scent leaves.
Crayfish is so important in the stew can't forget it
*Mashed Maggi cubes and onga spices
Step2
- I added 5cubes of Maggi cubes and a sachet of Onga spices
Hoping it will be enough for the taste
- I added everything together along with fish known as Ibat and pepper to the stew
- We are going there. Allow the stew to boil. Hurray! The stew is done.
STAGE 3: The Jollof
Step1
- Pour the stew into the pot of rice, put water to cover it and place it on fire
- Stir evenly to mix so that there will be no part that is left without the stew.
- When the rice is boiling, tasteit adding suitable amount of salt before it dries up
Step2
- Scoop the rice into a plate. I added avocado pear and bananas to make it more rich.
- Enjoy the meal. Best serve when hot
