Refreshing watermelon-Pineapple smoothie with a little twist

Good day everyone, I'd like to share my favourite smoothie recipe which is very refreshing and enjoyable by all. I kind of strayed off the traditional watermelon-pineapple smoothie by adding a twist to it, it takes even better.

The ingredients are quite easy to find and I'm sure everyone can make it.

Ingredients:

• Watermelon
• Pineapple
• Pitted dates
• Ginger
• Milk or yogurt

Watermelon

Get a ripe watermelon to use for the smoothie, the watermelon provides most of the water content of the smoothie. To know the exact amount of watermelon you want to use you'd have to know the number of person you want to serve. If it's just you, you can get an average sized watermelon and divide it into 3 parts. Use one part for the smoothie.

Regarding the seeds, well watermelon seeds are known for its high protein contents and are sometimes eaten together with the fruit. However, smoothies are to be drunk so getting at most all the seeds out would be good.

Pineapple

Use a small sized pineapple for the smoothie. This fruit provides most of the sweetening and it shouldn't be too much.

Ginger and dates

As I earlier said, they're the added twist, so you add as you desire or you leave it out.

Milk / yogurt

Provides the nutritious liquid for smooth blending of the smoothie.

Procedure:

Add the dates first in the blender and add a bit of the milk the you add the watermelon, ginger and then followed with the pineapple then blend. This should be done in parts so that the blender doesn't get chocked with too much fruits in it. Repeat the process it everything is exhausted.

These ingredients should be blended with ice if the fruits aren't frozen. The reason being that, frozen fruits makes the smoothie thicker so it's best served chilled.
