Chitai pitha

Chitai pitha is a Bengali pitha which is very popular in Bangladesh and West Bengal, India. This cake looks round and flat. Chitai pitha mold can be seen in rural areas. It is also known as Chit Pithe, Dhaka Pithe, Chitui Pithe, Chikui Pithe and Sara Pithe, Aske Pithe.

My mom makes me this cake every birthday. Because I like to eat this cake the most. So my mother made me this special food with a lot of effort on a special day. I love you momThis dish is also nice to look at and very tasty to eat. On top of that being made to be a mom, overall a great recipe

★Main ingredients:

  • Rice powder or flour, milk, salt and molasses.

★Preparation method:

  • This cake is made by mixing rice flour with water and steaming it in a hot pan. This cake is eaten with molasses (especially jhola molasses). It is also eaten dried or soaked in milk and molasses. To make the cake, the mixture of flour and water has to be fried in a low heat.

In winter, various Chitai cakes can be seen in the seasonal cake shops of Bangladesh. Crowds of cake buyers can be seen in these shops in the evening. In winter, the value of Chitai pitha is a little higher for everyone. Because chitai pitha is delicious to eat with various kinds of mash.These fillings include dried fruits, coriander leaves, dal fillings, mustard fillings etc. Dimchitai pitha is very popular in old Dhaka.
  • But I also like to eat soaked in milk and molasses.
