Hello Friends,

Today I'm very happy to participate in this great contest. Gratitude to @alikoc07 for bringing and initiating this amazing contest "Special Cake Recipe for the 5th Anniversary of Steemit" I'm really grateful. I want to also use this medium to thank @steemfoods community for the previledge to gain more knowledge on vital things that concern food and also exposing me on different skills of life.

I'm not a good baker but it pain that my 3 sisters can bake perfectly and I stayed the same house with them. I never had any interest in baking because I think it takes much time but guess what? my plan is to marry a special woman that cooks very well and bake yummy cakes like my sisters so as to change diets for my children and for the betterment of the family.

Sometimes when I see men baking it enticed me a lot most especially while the man is baking his wife and children watching which might create a lot of funs in the family as such make the family lively and happy. All I needed was to develop a passion for it. Hopefully, I decided to learn how to bake cakes not for business but for my future family😆.

While I was baking this cake, it took me time and I really sweat in the cause of preparing it. And when I sweat in the cause of achieving anything, at the end it always becomes sweeter. Actually, this steemit platform deserved it because it has really broaden my knowledge and equipped me for the future. That's why I decided to put my best effort in preparing this cake with great joy in me and present it to this amazing platform @steemit for their inspiration and elevation in my life.

Every cake🍰 has a story so let's bake for steemit for their 5th Anniversary. I baked a cake with two flavours(vanilla & butternut). Therefore, follow me carefully so that you won't miss any of the story for the cake🤗.

Ingredients for the Cake

  • Flour 500g

  • Sugar 400g

  • Butter 500g

  • Foster clark Flavours milk emulsion½ tablespoon

  • Foster clark Flavours vanilla & butternut ½ tablespoon

  • Baking powder 1.2Ml

  • Baking soda 15Ml

Procedure

  1. Heat the butter to melt for about 5 to 10mins.

  1. Beat the eggs until a creamy consistency

  • Mix the sugar and the already melted butter until a creamy consistency for about 45Minutes with mixer or manually.

  • Sieve and mix all your dry ingredients into a separate bowl that's baking soda, baking powder, and flour.

  • Add your flavours while still turning the sugar and butter.

  • Add your eggs in three folds this is to make sure that the ingredients are properly incorporated.

    Note: Ensure that if you are using anticlockwise motion of turning you continue like that, you are not allowed to change to clockwise motion while using the anticlockwise motion else your cake will likely fall while baking.

  • Heat your oven

  • While turning your eggs to mix properly, add all the dry ingredients in three folds too and mix properly for up to 20mins.

  • Cream and dust your pans to be used; add the barter into the pans and bake in the oven for 45mins-1hr.

  1. Use a toothpick and insert in the middle, if it comes out dry, then it is ready.

ingredients for frosting

  • Carboxyl methyl cellulose (C.M.C) 2tspoon

  • Gelatine 2tspoon

  • Icing sugar 1kg

  • Glucose 2tspoon

  • Water 20tspoon

Procedure for syrup

  • Measure out 20 tspoon of water into a cup, then add 2tspoons of gelatine and place the cup with the gelatin inside a pot of hot water and turn till the gelatine dissolves.

  • After which you add 2tspoons of glucose and mix untill it dissolves. Bring down and allow to cool.

Procedure for fondant

  • Sieve your icing sugar into a bowl and add 2 tspoons of C.M.C.

  • Start pouring the syrup gradually into the icing sugar, while doing this massage the icing sugar into the syrup,keep adding syrup and massaging till you get your desired thickness.

  • After which add the giant bake which changes the colour to black

  • use roll pin to spread the fondant

  • Cut off the top of the cake to level it properly

  • Cover the cake using the fondant

  • Add your special designs and the cake is ready!
